Rear Door:




Repair Materials:











Only perform steps 1 to 7 if seals are damaged during removal.

1. Insert seal (1) and mark (arrow) door frame (use marker with washable ink).
2. Remove seal (1) for rear quarter window.







3. Separate seal (1) in center (arrow).

Only the outer part of the seal is required.

Ensure that the cutting edge is clean and straight in the area of the window divider.

4. Shorten area (A) on triangular seal if required.







5. Insert seal (2). Ensure that it is seated correctly (arrow).
6. Cut center bar (B) on seal (2) out up to marking on window frame.







7. Glue on inner section of seal (2) with rubber channel adhesive (arrows).







8. Fill seal (2) up to marking on door frame with "Terolan 3200" sealant.
9. Fill rear corner (arrow) with "Terolan 3200" sealant.







10. Glue self-adhesive foam rubber strips (3) to angle bracket (4).

On B6 version, the angle bracket (4) consists of two pieces.

11. Insert window (5) into door frame toward B-pillar and slide completely upward.
12. Center window (5) and tension with suitable tool or 2nd person.
13. Insert angle bracket (4) and fasten with microencapsulated bolts (6)

Use new bolts.

14. Slightly tension window (5) with bolt (7) against window frame. Counter with nuts (8).

Use new bolts.







17. Insert seal (1) and fit properly, mark window (arrows). Remove seal (1) again.







16. Mark vertical line on window.
Draw parallel line (to B-pillar) at a distance of 24 mm.

17. Glue on with adhesive tape and coat intermediate space with black glass primer.

Drying time approx. 30 minutes.







18. Insert seal (1) and fit.
19. Align center bar on seal (1) and fasten to window with MB special adhesive.
20. Fasten rubber blocks (9) in black area at uniform intervals with instant adhesive.

Rubber blocks must be shop made (height 4 mm).

21. Apply "Beta Seal" sealant between seal (1) and rubber blocks (9).







22. Fit trim strip (10) (shorten at lower end if required).
23. Glue trim strip (10) to rubber blocks with instant adhesive.
24. Cut out seal (2) in area of rubber blocks and slit at upper corner (arrow).

Only if new seal is installed.

25. Apply "Beta Seal" sealant between window and trim strip (10)
26. Insert seal (2).

Fasten with instant adhesive (arrow) if applicable.







27. Apply window sealant between window and seal (1).
28. Fill window channel with "Terolan 3200" sealant (arrows).
