Replacing Centering Sleeve







REMOVAL
1. Remove propeller shaft.
2. Mark relative positions of flexible disks (12) to three-arm flange and remove





3. Using a suitable shop made drift, loosen fitted sleeves in flexible disks





4. Separate front and rear propeller shafts, if necessary
- Note position of alignment marks (raised humps) on shafts, place matchmarks if required.
5. Check centering sleeve (10) in front and rear propeller shafts
- If sealing lip in centering sleeve (10) is worn or damaged, the centering sleeves can be replaced individually
6. Remove centering sleeve (10) as follows:





- Drive centering sleeve evenly out of the propeller shaft (arrow) using a suitable cold chisel.
- If centering sleeve cannot be driven out with a cold chisel, proceed as follows:





- Drill a 10 mm hole, 15 mm from the end face of the centering sleeve.





- Insert a suitable drift through the drilled hole, then using suitable pry tools, remove centering sleeve

INSTALLATION
- Install a new centering sleeve as follows:





- Using a suitable driver press in the centering sleeve





- Observe press in distance "a" when installing:
Distance "a":
Front: 24.9 mm
Rear: 25.7 mm
- Install in reverse sequence.
