Tie Rod End: Service and Repair



AR46.40-P-0200C Remove/Install Track Rod








NOTE:

^ When removing and installing, always steady the track rod, otherwise the steering gear may be damaged
^ The internal stop of the steering gear is located on the track rods, therefore only remove and install the track rods in the center position of the steering.
^ The bolted connection must be free from all and grease.
^ Check joints for play and rubber boot for damage

Procedure

1. Remove front wheel.

2. Press tie rod joint (10a) off steering knuckle.

3. Slacken lock nut (10f) while countering tie rod.

4. Unscrew tie rod (10).

5. Install in the reverse order.

6. Check toe on front axle and adjust if necessary.


Specifications

Self-locking nut, tie rod to steering knuckle:
- Yellow 60 Nm
- Silver or Blue 70 Nm

Lock nut, tie rod to inner tie rod 60 Nm
