Reducing intake noises

Design / function
To reduce intake noises, a Helmholtz resonator (branching filter) with a volume of approx. 0.6 liter is installed. This is active within the engine speed range of approx. 3500 - 4500 rpm. A spinoff effect is that the air flow at the hot film mass air flow sensor is improved within this speed range and the measurement of the air mass is thus more accurate.
