Replace Rear Axle Level Controller

NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

REMOVAL

WARNING:
^ Risk of injury to the eyes and other parts of the body due to hydraulic oil spraying out under high pressure
^ Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.

NOTE: Refer to general notes for working on vehicles with level control/ADS. Technician Safety Information

1. Empty pressure oil system, refer to Emptying And Filling Pressure Oil System.
2. Disconnect pressure lines (S1, P) on level controller (3)
- Seal open lines with blind plugs.
3. Disconnect return line (T) on level controller (3)
4. Detach level controller

INSTALLATION
- Install in reverse sequence, noting the following
- Replace self-locking bolts
- Check and adjust control point of level control
- Check and correct headlamp adjustment
- Tighten the pressure line on level controller (reference value):
- 10 x 1 mm: 14 Nm
- 12 x 1 mm: 20 Nm
