Checking/Setting Distance Between Spring Strut and Wheel House

Location Of Left Spring Strut (Right Strut Mirror Image):

NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

PROCEDURE
When installing the spring strut (5), check distance "a" between the pressure hose holder on the spring strut tube (arrow) and the wheel house (70c).

Only set the spring strut when me screwed connection of the pressure hose is released. Ensure that the gaiter on the spring strut is not installed twisted

DIMENSIONS FOR REAR AXLE SPRING STRUT
- Distance between pressure hose holder on spring strut tube and wheel house:
- At rebound:
- Left: 8.5-10.5 mm
- Right: 8.5-10.5 mm
- At ready to drive (vehicle on its wheels):
- Left: 10.5-12.5 mm
- Right: 10.5-12.5 mm
