Preglow System Position/Design/Task

Task
Preheating the combustion chamber in order to achieve the required ignition temperature of the fuel/air mixture.

The combustion chamber preheater is subdivided into:
- Preglowing
- Start glowing (voltage at circuit 50)
- Afterglowing

Safety cutoff
If the engine is not started within 20 - 25 seconds after the start readiness is displayed, the glow current is interrupted by the safety cutoff.

Fault indication
A fault in the preglow system is indicated by the preglow indicator light (A1e16) not coming on when the key is turned to position "2".
