ME-SFI Warming-Up Control Function
Shown On Engine 119:
The transmission upshift delay is designed to more rapidly warm up the catalytic converter to its operating temperature after engine start.
In combination with automatic transmission type 722.6/7, transmission upshift delay is performed completely electronically. No additional components are required.
The engine control module requests the ETC control module (Y3/7n2) or the Sequentronic control module (N15/6) over the CAN databus to move the shift curves. The part load shifts (1-2, 2-3) are performed at a higher vehicle speed/engine speed.
The transmission upshift delay is active for up to 160 seconds if:
- Coolant temperature at start < 50 °C
- Vehicle speed < 53 km/h
