Remove/Install Oil Pump

NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

REMOVAL
1. Remove oil pan (10)
2. Remove oil pump drive gear (25)
3. Unbolt oil pump drive gear and take off together with oil pump chain at oil pump (24)
4. Unbolt oil pump (24), remove

INSTALLATION
- Install in the reverse order, noting the following:
Install oil pump drive gear (25) with the curve side facing toward oil pump (24) (arrows)
Clean strainer of oil pump.
Pay attention to dowel sleeves (27) at the two front bolts (28).

CAUTION: Fill oil pump with engine oil before installing so that it pumps oil when first started.

Tighten sprocket bolt to: 32 Nm
Tighten oil pump bolts to: 25 Nm
