Function
The interior motion sensor transmitter and receiver (IMS) (A26/14) monitors the interior of the vehicle with the aid of ultrasonic waves.

Activation/deactivation
This feature can be activated or deactivated by commands from the data interface.

Ultrasonic interior motion sensor
During operation the transmitter transmits ultrasonic pulses. These pulses are reflected by the walls and objects in the vehicle. The reflections are registered by the receiver and evaluated in a microcontroller. The reflected image changes when objects are moved in the vehicle interior allowing the system to recognize an attempt to break into the vehicle and trigger an alarm.
