INSPECTION
1. Comply with Prerequisites For Vehicle Level Measurement
- After repair work, move the vehicle up and down vigorously several times prior to measurement.

2. Install measuring plate (086b) in the recess in the lower wishbone.
- Ensure the groove in the measuring plate (086b) is at an angle of 90° to the direction of travel.
- Clean measuring points on lower wishbone
- Remove swarf from the measuring plate

CAUTION: The measuring plate is magnetic, information on data carriers, e.g. diskettes, check cards etc., may become unusable

3. Check vehicle level at front axle via wishbone inclination as follows:

- Mount measuring sensor (086a) (connecting cable points towards the center of the vehicle) and store each measured value.
- Measuring point 1, front left
- Measuring point 2, front right
4. Check vehicle level at rear axle via drive shaft inclination as follows:

- Mount measuring sensor (086a) on the left or right drive shaft (connecting cable points towards the center of the vehicle) and store each measured value.
- Clean measuring points on drive shaft
- Measuring point 3, rear left
- Measuring point 4, rear right

ADJUSTMENT
If vehicle level is outside tolerance at front or rear axle, adjust vehicle level by changing the springs or spring rubber mounts.

NOTE: On vehicles with level control a vehicle level which is too low must not be corrected by modifying the connecting rod of the level controller (control point).
a. Check function of level control.
b. If in order, adjust vehicle level by changing the springs or spring rubber mounts. Adjustments
