Detaching And Attaching Lower Steering Shaft

Steering Shaft:

Detaching

Component Identification, Part 1:

1 Unscrew hexagon socket bolt (80c).
2 Disconnect lower steering shaft.

Attaching

Component Identification, Part 2:

2 Push on lower steering shaft (80a) up to the retaining ring at the upper steering shaft.


NOTE: The hexagon socket bolt (80c, arrow) and the lug on the thrust ring (right arrow) must be in the same position.
The disk spring must be fully preloaded; if necessary this should be fully preloaded by pressing against the steering shaft.

3 Screw in and tighten hexagon socket bolt.
