Vacuum Element For Blend Flap

The blend flap vacuum elements actuate the blend flaps (air from the heater core) for control of the air to the center nozzle.

The blend flap vacuum elements are designed as single stage vacuum elements.






The blend flap vacuum elements (45, 46) are actuated by the pushbutton control module (N22) via the switchover valve block (Y11). In the open state vacuum is connected to the blend flap vacuum elements (45, 46). In the phase of transition from the cooling mode to the heating mode and vice versa (mode change) the blend flaps are opened for a short time.

This changes the outlet temperature at the center nozzle only slightly for pleasant temperature control in the passenger compartment.
