AR01.45-P-7500E Remove/Install Oil Pan



Removing And Installing Oil Pan






1 Disconnect ground cable of battery, connect

DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding with hot coolant which splashes out Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.
- Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
- Wear protective gloves, protective clothes and eye protection.


2 Drain coolant

CAUTION: See notes on coolant.

3 Drain engine oil, pour in
4 Detach fan shroud (3) from fixtures and place over fan
- Models with fan shroud

NOTE: Installation: Align fan shroud (3) to fan.

5 Detach charge air lines (4, 5) at left and right of supercharger

NOTE: Unclip left charge air line (5) at hot film mass air flow sensor (5a), detach right charge air line (4) at supercharger (6).

6 Remove intake air scoop (7)
7 Pull air cleaner housing (8) out of fixtures at body
8 Unbolt electric cable at circuit 30 terminal block, left footwell (X4)
- Model 202, 208

9 Unbolt exhaust at exhaust manifold
10 Unbolt support for exhaust bracket and transmission
- Model 202, 208

11 Unplug connector of oil level sensor (S43)
12 Detach coolant hoses at coolant thermostat housing
- Model 170

13 Pinch off hose for oil return flow to power steering pump and detach hose
14 Unscrew bolts (11) at bottom of front engine mounts.
15 Unscrew bolts (12) at bottom of rear engine mounts.
- except model 170

16 Raise engine
- Attach engine hoist (22) to front and rear engine lifting eyes and raise engine evenly at front and rear.

17 Remove oil pan (56) together with oil pan
- Take out oil pan (56) to the bottom in gasket (56a) direction of travel.

NOTE: Installation: Clean sealing surfaces, replace oil pan gasket (56a), pay attention to different lengths and diameters of bolts

- Align oil pan (56) to rear contact surface on transmission.

CAUTION: If the oil pan is not aligned to the transmission, this can result in noise and vibration problems.

18 Install in the reverse order

DANGER:
- Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of Injury from bruises and burns if you insert your hand into engine when it is being started or when it is running.
- Secure vehicle to prevent it starting off by itself.
- Wear closed and dose-fitting work clothes.
- Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.


19 Run engine and inspect for leaks.
