Inspection
1. Remove pistons. Service and Repair
2. Examining connecting rods for blue discoloration, cross scoring and notches
- Conrod with blue discoloration (resulting from bearing damage), with cross scoring and notches must not be re-used

CAUTION: When Replacing conrod, balance of conrod set must be within weight of 4 grams.

3. Bolt conrod bearing cap to connecting rod as follows:

NOTE: Connecting rod and conrod bearing caps are marked together and fixed in position with two dowel sleeves.

- Tighten conrod bolts to initial torque of: 45 Nm
- Tighten conrod bolts: an additional 90°
4. Measure conrod basic bore (D1), refer to the specifications below.

NOTE: If basic bore is conical or if the diameter is greater than the maximum value, hone off the conrod bearing cap at in contact surface by not more 0.02 mm.

5. Examine inner diameter (d) of conrod bushes, refer to specifications below.
- If wear excessive, press in new conrod bush as follows:

a. Press out conrod bush.
b. Press in new conrod bush
The oil bores must be aligned (arrow)
c. Skim conrod bush, then ream
d. Dress side surfaces of conrod on a dressing plate
6. Using a suitable conrod aligning tool, check alignment and refer to specifications below.

NOTE: If not to specifications, align conrod
