Task
Preheating the combustion chamber in order to achieve the required ignition temperature of the fuel/air mixture.

Function
When the glow/starter switch (S2/2 position 2) is switched on, the glow output stage (N14/2) and the preglow indicator light (A1e16) are actuated through the IFI control module (N3/7) or DFI control module (N3/8). The preglow time is calculated in accordance with the coolant temperature by the IFI control module (N3/7) or DFI control module (N3/8). The glow output stage (N14/2) switches the current through to the glow plugs (R9).
