Function of Intake Air Temperature Sensor

Function
The NTC resistor (b) integrated in the intake air temperature sensor (B17) alters its electrical resistance in line with the intake air temperature. NTC means negative temperature coefficient in other words the electrical resistance becomes less as the temperature rises.

Example:
Intake air temperature Resistance
20 °C approx. 6000 ohm
40 °C approx. 2600 ohm
