Direction of rotation recognition

Direction of rotation recognition
A magnet is fastened to the motor shaft. The two Hall sensors b1 and b2 react to the rotation of the magnet. When the motor rotates one turn the Hall sensors each output one square wave pulse.

The associated driver-side ESA control module (N32/1) or passenger-side ESA control module (N32/2) reads in the pulses from the Hall sensors. The chronological offset between the pulses from Hall sensor b1 and pulses from Hall sensor b2 allow the control module to recognize the direction of rotation of the motor.

Position recognition
The affected control module counts the pulses from the Hall sensors. The value in the position counter is increased or reduced depending on the recognized direction of rotation of the motor.
