PREPARATION
- Remove front wheel carrier. Procedures

REMOVAL





1. Using punch (05a) tool No. 202 589 00 15 00, or equivalent, knock out inner tapered roller bearing (9a) and radial seal ring (9a)
2. Using punch (05a) knock out bearing race of outer tapered roller bearing (9c)




3. Using pulling-out tool (O5) tool No. 201 589 00 33 00, or equivalent, pull bearing race of inner tapered roller bearing (9b) out of front wheel carrier
4. Clean tapered roller bearings and front wheel carrier

INSPECTION
- Check tapered roller bearings and bearing races
- Check front wheel carrier
- Check tapped holes and rotor teeth for damage


INSTALLATION





1. Using pulling-in device (05b,05c) tool No 201 589 01 43 00, or equivalent, pull bearing races (9b, 9c) into front wheel carrier
2. Install inner tapered roller bearing (91) in front wheel carrier
- Grease tapered roller bearing before installing





3. Using pulling-in device, pull in radial seal ring (9a) up to the stop in the front wheel carrier.
- Use grease to coat contact surface of radial seal ring and pack space between sealing lip and dust lip
4. Pack wheel carrier with grease with 60 grams of suitable wheel bearing grease
5. Install outer tapered roller bearing in front wheel carrier
- Grease tapered roller bearing before installing
6. Install front wheel carrier
7. Adjust wheel bearings. Adjustments
