Tripping Alarm With Exterior Surface Contacts, Function
When the anti-theft alarm (ATA) is activated actuation of an exterior surface contact trips an alarm.
The exterior surface contacts include:
- The front door switches S17/3, S17/4 and rear door switches S17/5 and S17/6 (except model 208).
- The trunk lamp switch (S17/8) on the trunk lid
- The engine hood switch (ATA) (S62) on the engine hood
- On model 210.2 the tailgate closing assist/interior light switch (A12s1) on the tailgate.
The prerequisite for tripping an alarm is that the alarm input on the PSE control module (combined) (A37), to which the corresponding contact is connected has been switched to the standby state by activating the ATA.
NOTE: Once tripped the alarm can no longer be interrupted by discontinuing actuation of the contact, i.e. by closing a door opened previously.
