NEW TIMING CHAIN WITH PRESSED ON CENTER LINK PLATE FOR DIESEL ENGINES

A new timing chain with a pressed on center link plate as part of the connecting link has been phased into production on the diesel engines noted in the table.
!IMPORTANT!
Only the new modified timing chain is available as a spare part for diesel engines 601, 602, 603 and 606. Please see Parts Information.
!IMPORTANT!
Prior to replacing the timing chain, please review the timing chain replacement procedure as described in:
SMS, Engine 601, 602, 603; Mechanical III, Job No.05-320.
SMS, Engine 604, 605, 606; Mechanical II, Job No. AR05.10-7601HA.
!IMPORTANT!
Use only the new timing chain removal/installation tools as described in MBNA 58/92.
