PAINT WARRANTY
ALL MODELS
Mercedes-Benz warrants the paint finish on its vehicles to be free from defects as stated in the "New Car Limited Warranty." A detailed explanation of coverage is provided in the MB Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual, section 4, page 4-5.
Should refinishing become necessary, MBNA requires that only Mercedes-Benz approved paint products and application processes be used. MBNA has specifically approved Glasurit products supplied by BASF Corp., Sikkens products supplied by Akzo-Nobel, Inc., Spies Hecker products supplied by Spies Hecker, Inc., and Standox products supplied by American Standox, Inc.. for Mercedes-Benz dealers. For a complete list of approved products, refer to S.I. MBNA 98/13C, dated November 1997. MBNA does not approve of or encourage the use of non-approved paint products and application processes.
Areas refinished by qualified personnel using the approved procedures with Glasurit, Sikkens, Spies Hecker, and Standox products carry a limited warranty as provided by the paint supplier:
^ for the remainder of the New Car Limited Warranty or,
^ as outlined in the suppliers retail warranty, whichever is longer.
Do not submit warranty claims to MBNA for all repairs on refinished areas.
For additional details, refer to a copy of the suppliers warranty booklet and manual.
Please note that BASF, Akzo-Nobel, Spies Hecker, and American Staralox all require current paint training certifications for coverage of this paint warranty. Please contact these suppliers directly for details (contact information is listed as shown).
