Connecting Impulse Counter Scan Tool:
Connect adaptor (075) to X11/4 and connect impulse counter scan tool to the adaptor as follows:
Red wire (circuit 30, voltage) Socket 3
Black wire (circuit 31, ground) Socket 1
Yellow wire to diagnostic output socket of the system being tested as follows:

HFM-SFI engine control module Socket 4
Base module (except Models 202, 210) Socket 8
Electronic accelerator/cruise control/idle speed control*
(EA/CC/ISC) or (CC/ISC) control module Socket 7
Diagnostic module No longer possible**
RPM signal (TN output)(Models 202, 210) Socket 17
RPM signal (TN output)(except Models 202, 210) Socket 13


NOTE: DTC's which have been stored due to testing or disconnecting of lines must be erased from the DTC memory at the end of testing.

*On model E320 (210 Chassis), the EA/CC/ISC or CC/ISC control modules can only be accessed with the Mercedes HHT.

**The impulse counter scan tool cannot access the Diagnostic Module On-Board Diagnostic system any longer. The Mercedes HHT or a generic scan tool is required.
