WIND SCREEN COMPLAINTS

A. RATTLING NOISES
Complaints of rattling noises coming from the wind screen when in the folded position, can be resolved by affixing two pieces of self-adhesive black felt to the wind screen frame.
Installation:
1. Cut two 1/2' pieces of 70 mm wide self-adhesive black felt.
2. Affix the pieces of felt to the lower wind screen frame, approximately 1" inwards from the hold down straps (arrows. Figure 1).
Note: Warranty claims for wind screens replaced for rattling will be rejected in the future and parts will be returned to dealers.

B. HOLD DOWN STRAP FAILURE
Complete wind screens have been replaced due to failure of the hold down straps (Figure 1). Each strap is available as a spare part, part no. B6 7 81 1043. Please also see Section IV of Parts and Accessories # 1103, dated December 3, 1991 for additional information.
Removal/Installation:
1. To replace the strap, remove the mounting screw and discard the old strap.
2. Carefully position the new strap in place and secure with the mounting screw.
Note: Warranty claims for complete wind screens where only the strap(s) has failed will be rejected arid parts will be returned to dealers.
