DTC: P0116 Engine coolant temperature circuit range/performance problem (B11/3)

Activation requirement CHECK ENGINE lamp:
Two consecutive trips with fault.

Activation of CHECK ENGINE lamp:
At start of next trip.

Test to detect fault:
The engine control module checks the engine coolant temperature sensor voltage signal for the limiting values (-42 °C to + 160 °C). If the limiting value is exceeded, a substitute value is created by the engine control module. The fault recognition and the corresponding coolant temperature are transmitted via CAN to the diagnostic module. The diagnostic module recognizes a fault after 2 seconds.
