MODIFIED C-PILLAR MOUNTING FOR SOFT TOP CANVAS

Since June 1993, the soft top canvas is attached to the C-pillar linkage by means of a new angle bracket. The soft top canvas mounting strip was modified in this area.




If a modified soft top canvas is installed on vehicles not equipped with the angle bracket on the linkage, the angle bracket must be subsequently installed. The previous version soft top canvas should be used up on vehicles without the angle brackets. Until the modified microfiche Body - Assembly jobs Ill, Model 124 is available. refer to the following additional steps.

INSTALLING ANGLE BRACKET ON PREVIOUS VERSION LINKAGE




1. Drill holes (D, E, Figure 3) for angle bracket (1) in linkage (3).

Note:
Countersink holes (D, E) using 900 countersink and protect against corrosion by applying zinc dust paint. The angle bracket (1) should be flush with the outside of the linkage (3) after tightening the screw (2).




2. Glue soft top canvas strip on the angle bracket (Figure 4).

3. Complete soft top canvas installation procedure according to SMS Job no. 77.308.
