C/D Changer - Installation: Overview

INSTALLATION OF CD CHANGER
A. MODEL 124.092, M.Y. 1994/1995
B. MODEL 140, M.Y. 1995

The work instructions (W.I. # 326 and 327) describe the installation of the Mercedes-Benz CD changer (part no.002 820 42 89) in vehicles equipped with one-piece radio (models 1492/CM2194/CM2294).

The installation procedure for model 140 is revised for M.Y. 1995.

Warranty Coverage and Handling

A Mercedes-Benz CD Changer installed prior to or at retail delivery of a new Mercedes-Benz passenger car will be covered for the 48 months/50,000 mile term of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

The Warranty for a Mercedes-Benz CD Changer installed after retail delivery of the vehicle will be the remaining portion of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty or the twelve (12) month Limited Service, Parts and Accessories Warranty, whichever is longer. See Limited Accessories Warranty for CD Changer, (S-0417-C93) for complete details.

A CD Changer installed as an accessory after expiration of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty will be covered for the twelve (12) month term of the Limited Service, Parts and Accessories Warranty.

All other terms and conditions of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty and Limited Service, Parts and Accessories Warranty will apply respectively.

The installation of a Mercedes-Benz CD Changer must be reported by the installing dealer to the Mercedes-Benz of North America Warranty Department, using the postcard form S-2441-94B. Additional postcards may be ordered via MB-NET.

This Warranty (S-0417-C93) supersedes all previous statements regarding CD Changer warranties.

NOTE:
The transfer of a CD changer from one vehicle to another, voids the warranty.
