RA03001044100X Remove/Install Driven Plate With Ring Gear







Removal
1. Remove the transmission.
2. Install retaining lock for crankshaft/ring.





3. Unscrew stretch bolts (4) or internal torx bolt.
Inspect Stretch Bolts.
Stretch Bolt (4)
- Length "L of bolt (new): 22 ± 0.2 mm (maximum 22.5 mm)
- Thread "D": M10 x 1
- Stretch shank diameter "d" (new): 8.5 - 0.2 mm
- Minimum diameter: 8.0 mm
- Tightening torque (thread and bolt contact surface moistened with oil: 45 Nm + 90° tightening angle.
Replace Internal Torx Bolt





CAUTION: The internal torx bolts installed as of May 1995 must be used only once and should be replaced after each removal and installation opinion.

Internal Torx BoltT55
- Length "L" of bolt (new): 28.5 mm
- Thread "D": M10 x 1
- Tightening torque (thread and bolt contact surface moistened with oil: 45 Nm + 90° tightening angle.
4. Replace stretch shank bolt (4) if minimum stretch shank shaft diameter (d) does not exist.
5. Remove driven plate with ring gear (11) and plate (8).
6. Note dowel pin (6).

Installation
- Reverse procedure to install, boting the following:





NOTE: If no tightening angle wrench is available. the stretch shank bolts can be tightened further to the specified angle in a single operation with a wrench socket and tommy bar. A flexi-rod torque wrench must not be used for tightening according to degrees of angle in order to avoid angle errors.





CAUTION: The internal torx bolts must be used only once and should be replaced after each removal and installation operation.
