Pressure Fluid Pump Seal

If pump being serviced is equipped with two fluid seals, a single, double-lip seal should be used to replace the original seals.
1. Mark relationship between bearing cap and pump housing for assembly reference.
2. Remove two bearing cap attaching screws and the cap.
3. Remove camshaft, ensuring piston support ring remains in place.
4. Check camshaft for wear. If grooving is evident, the pump must be replaced.
5. Pry seal(s) out of bearing cap.
6. Install new double-lip seal using fabricated tool, Fig. 8.
7. Install camshaft and bearing cap. Torque attaching screws to 7 ft. lbs.
