AR46.10-P-0100A Remove/Install Steering Wheel

Replacement Steering Wheel In Installed Condition For Vehicles With Contact Spiral:







NOTE: Steering wheels with contact spiral are supplied as a spare part ready-to-install. A cable (38d) is also mounted on a flat-pin connector (38e).


Assemble slip ring


Component Identification, Part 1:






1 Push electrical cables for airbag squib (38a) and horn (32k) through the recesses in the steering wheel (see arrows) and the grommet in the impact absorber.


Component Identification, Part 2:






2 Insert slip ring and assemble with new screws (32j).


Component Identification, Part 3:






3 Connect cable which has been pushed in for the horn (32k) in the top right contact plate (arrow).
4 Disconnect cable (38d) from the flat-pin connector (38e) and connect to the flatpin connector of the slip ring.


Replacement Steering Wheel In Installed Condition For Vehicles With Contacts:






NOTE: Pay attention to what special equipment is installed when replacing the steering wheel:


2 Brass contact rings = standard (horn rings)
4 Brass contact rings = airbag
2 Brass contact rings + 1 Steering angle magnetic ring (arrow) = ADS
4 Brass contact rings + 1 Steering angle magnetic ring (arrow) = Airbag, ADS
