Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

Fuel Pump/Fuel Accumulator/Fuel Filter Assembly:

1. Remove the fuel tank filler cap. (Depressurizes the fuel tank)
2. Disconnect the NEG. battery terminal and insulate.
3. Remove the fuel pump assembly cover.
4. With an appropriate clamping tool pinch off the fuel suction and delivery hoses.
5. Remove the metal fuel line from the fuel accumulator, fuel filter and fuel pump.
6. Remove the fuel delivery hose from the fuel filter.
7. Loosen the fuel filter bracket and remove the filter. (Note the position of the fuel filter and insulating sleeve before removal).
8. Install the insulating sleeve on the fuel filter and reinstall the filter in reverse manner.

CAUTION: Always use new sealing rings when reconnecting the metal fuel lines.

9. Check for fuel leaks.
