Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair






Replacement
1. Remove transmission and driveplate
2. Using a suitable pad and prybar, pry out seal (93).

NOTE: Use caution not to scratch crankshaft or seal housing.

3. Inspect crankshaft for wear

NOTE: If crankshaft has a wear groove from the seal, use a repair version replacement seal with a lip offset 3 mm to the inside.

4. Deburr edge of hole for radial seal (93).
5. Bolt inner part of installation tool to crankshaft.

CAUTION:
^ Do not use grease on the seal lips during installation.
^ Grease will prevent swirl on the sealing lips from feeding back oil.

6. Lubricate seal with engine oil.
7. Position seal on inner part of installation tool at crankcase.
8. Press seal into position with outer part of insertion tool.
9. Reverse remaining procedures to install, recheck for leaks.
