Thermostat: Service and Repair

NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

1. Drain coolant at radiator.





2. Unbolt coolant thermostat housing cover with coolant hoses connected.
On Model 202, pay attention to bracket (5).
3. On all models, remove coolant thermostat (1).
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- The ball valve (arrow) of the coolant thermostat (1) must be at the highest point.
- Tighten coolant thermostat housing cover to 9 Nm
- Replace seal (2).
- Check cooling system for leaks.
