Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

300SD & SL, 1990-92 300CE & 1992 300SE

The 300CE model, is equipped with dual fans.
1. Disable airbag system, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
2. Remove engine compartment vertical cover.
3. Pull fan cover ring pins rearward, then turn ring to LH side to remove.
4. Install tool No. 104 589 00 01 00 or equivalent, between fan clutch and pulley.
5. Remove fan clutch attaching screw, then remove fan assembly.
6. Reverse to install. Torque fan clutch attaching screw to 33 ft. lbs.
