Door Latch Striker Eye - Production Modification

MODELS 124 (EXCEPT 124.051) AND 201 MODIFIED STRIKER EYES

As of August 1990 production, a modified door lock striker eye is installed. In case of repairs on previous version striker eyes, only the modified version should be used.








The dimension "A" (Figure 2) has been increased by 2.5 mm (0.1 in.) to 38.5 mm (1.5 in.) versus the previous striker eye (1), eliminating the need for the spacer (2) (Figure 1).

The modified version can be identified by its gray rubber base and the imprint W124 on the bottom of the striker eye (arrow, Figure 2).

Note:
Tightening torque of the Torx-head bolts is 16 to 22 Nm. Refer to Service Microfiche "Body-assembly jobs I, Model 124" Job No.72-050 for adjusting the striker eye.
