Procedures

NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

1. Remove timing case cover.
2. Remove guide rail.





3. Lift off timing chain (6) at camshaft sprockets (3 and 5).
- Pay attention to colored marking.
4. Cover crankshaft sprocket and oil pan with clean cloth.
5. Tap M5 thread (arrow) on oil nozzle (14) approximately 8 mm deep.
6. Remove oil nozzle (14) with impact extractor (1) 116 589 20 33 00, or equivalent.
7. Knock in new oil nozzle (14) with plastic headed hammer.
- Projection = 31 mm
8. Both drillings (14a) for oil spray direction must be positioned in oil nozzle (14) vertical to timing chain (6) (flat face on oil nozzle (14) at front parallel to timing chain).

NOTE:On engine 104.98 the timing chain is sprsyed with oil trough a connection in the oil transverse gallery and a drilling in the guide rail.
