Armature and Servo Magnet






NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

Replacement
1. Unbolt servo magnet (Y49).
2. Coat solenoid with sealant.
3. Tighten M6 x 16 bolts (1).
4. Remove front cover (7).
5. Unbolt armature (4) with M5 x 11 bolt (3).

CAUTION: It is not permitted to re-use the bolt (3).

NOTE:
^ Armature (4) can be fitted onto control plunger (18) only in the specified position (arrow).
^ The armature (4) with the control plunger (18) must move freely from stop to stop after the nut (6) has been tightened to the specified torque of 65 Nm.





^ The different versions of the armature (4) and of the solenoid (2) must only be installed in the specified matching for operational reasons.

Matching Armature And Servo Magnet
- 1st Version:
Armature (4): Size B 21 mm
Servo magnet (2): Size A 27.1 mm

- 2nd Version:
Armature (4): Size B 23 mm
Servo magnet (2): Size A 29.1 mm

6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- tighten the bolt of armature to control plunger to:
1st version (bolt + washer): 7 Nm
2nd version: 5 Nm + 90°

NOTE:
- Use collar bolt only once.
- Replace 1st version with 2nd when performing repairs.
