Cooling System Drain and Refill
DRAINING- Remove lower engine cover.
Warning:
Do Not open pressure cap until coolant temperature is below 90°C (194° F).
- Open pressure cap on expansion tank in stages.
- Open flap on front left of bumper, fit a hose (inner diameter 12 mm) (2) onto the connection and open drain tap (1).
- Drain coolant into a suitable container (approx. 4 liters).
- Drain coolant at the crankcase by fitting a hose (inner diameter 14 mm) onto the drain plug and loosening the plug slightly.
- Drain coolant into a suitable container (approx. 4 liters).
- Tighten drain plug (110) at crankcase.

- Fill with coolant mix to the markings on the expansion tank.
- Refit vent line at expansion tank.
If Vehicle fitted With Auxiliary Heater:
- Take off cap, unscrew vent screw slightly until no air flows out.
- Repeat operation several times as necessary to remove all air from auxilary heater system.
- Switch on heater and run engine until warm and thermostat opens.
- Following this, top off coolant to the marking on the expansion tank.
NOTE: Replace cap on expansion tank from a coolant temperature of approx. 60-70° C (140-158° F).
- Check cooling system for leaks.
- Check and correct coolant level after engine has cooled down.
