SUBJECT: MODEL 129 CHECKING THE SOFT TOP COMPARTMENT SLIDE RAILS


If misadjusted, the sharp edge of the slide rails in the soft top compartment can damage the rear edge of the soft top material when the top is closed. To prevent this, check the left and right slide rails at the rear for sharp edges and an acceptable fit to the fender, and correct if needed (applies to vehicles up to August 1990 production date).


Procedure

Figure 1:

Use a piece of wood and mallet, bend the edge (folding inwards) to correct the position of the slide rails toward the fender, so the sharp edge (arrow) cannot damage the fabric.
