Upshifts In Lower Speed Rang Only

CAUSE/REMEDY:
1. Check control pressure cable and adjust if necessary (the travel of the control pressure cable from closed to wide open throttle must measure at least 25 mm).
2. Check engine throttle control (give wide open throttle and check in the engine compartment that the throttle valve rests at the wide open throttle stop; correct if necessary).
3. Check governor pressure; if it varies from specified value, clean or replace centrifugal governor.
4. Replace shift valve body (new vehicles only).
