Governor: Service and Repair


Removing and Installing








1 Remove rear engine mount.
2 Unlock plug (8) by turning white plastic ring upwards in direction of arrow.
3 Disconnect plug (8).





4 Press cover (46) and take out snap ring (47) with cover.

Installation Note
Push cover (46) outwards again until it rests against the snap ring (47).





5 Slacken nut for axial retainer (44).

Installation Note
Tightening torque 8 Nm.
The axial retainer is correctly fitted when the slot (arrow) is horizontal.

6 Swivel axial retainer (43) away in a counter-clockwise direction using a screwdriver in the slot (arrow) (corresponds to position "B" in the cross section).

Installation Note
Rock centrifugal governor gently back and forth in an axial direction turning axial retainer (43) clockwise until it engages correctly (position "A" in cross section).

50 Centrifugal governor





7 Pull out centrifugal governor (50).





8 Remove circlip (40) and pull off helical gear (41).

Installation Note





Mount helical gear (41) in such a way that the driver pin (arrow) engages in the bore in the helical gear.





9 Move flyweights and check smoothness of control valve in the openings (arrows).

NOTE: The regulator valve must move easily. If necessary, wash out the centrifugal governor and blow-dry with compressed air. If the regulator valve cannot be made to run smoothly, replace the centrifugal governor. In this case, use the helical gear (41) from the old centrifugal governor.
