This S.I. contains complete information on factory approved battery handling and care procedures. For additional information concerning battery procedures please refer to the following S.I.'s:

MBNA 54/32 Battery Service Record form (Mar. 1990),
MBNA 54A0 Battery Jump-starting and Charging (Nov. 1992),
MBNA 54/41b Battery Master Disconnect Switch (Oct. 1993).

It is mandatory for ALL dealers to:

^ maintain the batteries in dealer lot vehicles and to record this maintenance on the Battery Service Record form (S-2470-000),

^ properly complete a Battery Test Sheet (S-2392-B92) for every battery replaced under warranty and to maintain a copy of the test sheet in the vehicle's service file,

^ keep the battery master disconnect switch turned OFF and installed until retail delivery of the vehicle.

ALL Mercedes-Benz batteries must be handled in accordance with the procedures contained within this Service Information. Failure to follow these instructions may affect warranty reimbursement or result in warranty claim denial or account debiting.
