5. Replacement Batteries - Storage and Activation
5.1 Battery stock should be rotated, i.e. the oldest battery should be used first.5.2 Batteries must be stored in a cool, dry area not subject to temperature fluctuations.
5.3 Fill the battery to the "MIN" level with electrolyte having a specific gravity of 1.265 (preferred) or 1.28. Dry-charged batteries should be allowed to "rest" for at least 15 minutes after filling to allow the electrolyte to soak into the plates. Charge at 15 amperes until the electrolyte specific gravity is above 1.250 and the battery temperature is over 60°F (15.5°C). Add electrolyte, if necessary, to bring the level up to the "MAX" mark. The battery is now ready for service.
