Ventilation Switch: Testing and Inspection

Fresh/Recirculated Air Switch Location:

1. Remove the ACC control unit. Refer to COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES.
2. Carefully pull out the switch.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch.

Fresh/Recirculated Air Switch Testing:

4. Connect an ohmmeter between terminals 3 and 4.

Fresh Air/Recirculation Switch Testing:

5. Depress the symbol side of the switch ("ON"). The resistance should be:

0 - 1 ohm

6. Release switch. The resistance should be:

Infinite resistance

Fresh/Recirculated Air Switch Testing:

7. Connect the ohmmeter to terminals 2 and 4.

8. Depress the non-symbol side of the switch ("OFF"). The resistance should be:

Infinite resistance

9. Release switch. The resistance should be:

0 - 1 ohm

If the correct resistance is not obtained, replace the switch.
