Fuel Accumulator: Service and Repair

Fuel Pump Location:

1. Remove the fuel tank filler cap. (Depressurizes the fuel tank)
2. Disconnect the NEG. battery terminal and insulate.
3. Remove the fuel pump assembly cover.
4. With an appropriate clamping tool pinch off the fuel suction and delivery hose.
5. Remove the metal fuel line from the fuel accumulator, fuel filter and fuel pump.
6. Loosen the clamp on the leak off hose and detach the hose from the accumulator.
7. Loosen the fuel accumulator bracket and remove the accumulator.
8. Install spacer ring on new accumulator and reinstall the accumulator in reverse manner.

CAUTION: Always use new sealing rings when reconnecting the metal fuel lines.

9. Check for fuel leaks.
