Fuel Systems
Cold Start Valve:
The cold start valve which is centrally located in the intake manifold injects fuel for a limited period to aid the starting process. The control of the cold start valve occurs according to a temperature related CIS-E control unit map that creates a pulsating injection of the start valve for a maximum of 10 sec during cranking. Cold start injection does not occur at coolant temperatures above 158°F. The current to the cold start valve is limited to 1.2 amps.
