SUBJECT: MODEL 124.051, M.Y. 1990/91 EXHAUST NOISE


If there are complaints of exhaust system noise between the exhaust manifold flange and rear muffler, check for exhaust leakage at the O2 sensor, clamped joints, or any visible damage. If no problems are evident, replace the catalytic converter. On all cars when the catalytic converter is replaced according to this S.I., mark the car with a green paint dot on the heat shield just above the exhaust pipe in the engine compartment.
