NOTE: Do not attempt to remove the catalytic converter without allowing adequate time for cooling. Times may vary due to outside air temperature and engine operating conditions. Be sure to use approved eye protection.
Removal
1. Support the exhaust system with an appropriate device.
2. Remove the oxygen sensor.
3. Remove the catalytic converter flange bolts.
4. Remove the catalytic converter.
Installation
1. Using new flange gaskets position the catalytic converter in line with the exhaust system.
2. Install new flange bolts and torque to 18-20 ft.lbs.
3. Remove the exhaust system support device.
4. Reinstall the oxygen sensor. (Be sure to use an approved anti-seize compound)
5. Start the engine and check for exhaust leaks.
