REPAIR OF FANFARE HORN USING CONTACT ADJUSTMENT SCREW

In cases of an inoperative fanfare horn, it may be possible to restore proper operation by turning the contact adjustment screw.

Caution
Wear proper hearing protection during this procedure. Advise others in area prior to testing.

While an assistant activates the horn, turn the adjustment screw (arrow, Figure 1) clockwise one or two turns until the horn sounds normally. If there is sealing compound covering the adjustment screw, remove enough compound to access the screw and reseal the screw using Silicone RTV when finished.

Some fanfare horns cannot be repaired by adjustment. Additionally, some horns (alarm horn, two-tone horns) are not equipped with an adjustment screw. These horns must be replaced as a unit if inoperative.
