D. Engines 104/111

Model 202

1. Reclaim and recycle A/C refrigerant.

2. Remove lower engine compartment encapsulation panel.

3. Release tension and remove poly-V-belt.

4. Remove bolt (5, engine 104 only).





5. Disconnect 3-pole connector (A9X1) on A/C compressor.

6. Remove bolts (3). Tightening torque: 23 Nm.

7. Remove A/C compressor, with suction and discharge lines attached, downwards.

8. Remove suction and discharge lines from manifold. Tightening torque: 23 Nm.

9 Remove manifold. Remove shipping plate from remanufactured unit only after releasing pressure via the schrader valve. Install manifold and new O-rings onto remanufactured unit.

10. Correct oil level in compressor (compensate for oil loss if additional components were replaced).

11. Reinstall in reverse sequence.

Note:
If clutch must also be replaced, see section H.

12. Replace receiver/drier (SMS, Job No. 83-540).

13. Evacuate and recharge A/C system. Run engine at idle for approximately four minutes and check for proper function and leaks (SMS, Job No. 83-508).
